The Prague hospitality learning has officially commenced. Over the last couple of days, we have already seen so much! Firstly, we got a back of the house tour of one of the most unique hotels I have ever had the privilege of visiting. The Augustine Marriot hotel located in Prague is a tourism treasure. Starting off with the basics, this hotel is. Complex made up of 7 historical buildings, including an original monastery that is still active with 6 monks today. Designed by Olga Polozzi, the Augustine takes its form of 1930s Czech cubism to the next level. The hotel has 101 room, with every single one being unique and different for the guest experience. Meaning you could love your stay and come back still 100 more times and have a whole new experience. From a blondie inspired bar that has Marie Antoinette inspired ceilings; the Augustine is a historical piece of art itself. The tour included 4 rooms, the brewery now turned restaurant, and presentation that informed us on future opportunities with Marriott. Personally, I found this to be extremely helpful with being a senior and not sure of my next big step. The Marriot offers a program called Marriot voyage. It included a 12-month program for recent graduated to learn firsthand how take in skills from one of the most successful hotel chains around the world, with also the possibility of a future position permanently with the company. Some of their key features gravitating me to the company specifically are their speed with sustainability, their openness to grow, and their commitment to their employee’s future along with the company’s. Truly the uniqueness of the hotel wouldn’t have such a large impact if the designer did not take the time to restore the property with the right respect of the culture. On the tour they informed us, Polozzi had spent almost 2 years living with the monks to fully restore it with its natural history and comfortability for the monks. In doing this she created a hybrid place that offers not only real-life history and culture, but also with Marriot, a luxury stays along with it. Almost Every single room is decorated for the Christmas season and included heated floors for comfortability. The ceilings are all original and some rooms even have preserved original wallpaper. All these unique factors drive tourist to stay at the Augustine, and more importantly, drive them back for another stay. Whether you’re with your family, on a honeymoon, or even in Prague for business, the Augustine can accommodate to you personally with much attention, based off their training and expertise. The Augustine Marriot is a perfect example of why Prague is highlighted as a tourism hot spot, while also showing how it differs from other places. Leading more people to want that specific, special stay they offer.
