When guests stay at a luxury resort, they often focus on the visible aspects of their experience. From noticing the beautiful ocean views, the friendly staff, and the activities offered by the property. During our stay at Beaches Turks & Caicos, we realized that many of the mot important elements of hospitality happen behind the scenes. Some departments such as housekeeping, laundry, and safety control pay a crucial role in shaping the guest experience, even it guest rarely interact directly with these teams. From my perspective as both a hospitality student and a guest during this program, I was able to see first hand the work they do and how their work directly influences comfort, and quality of the stay.

From the first moment we arrive at the resort, the experience immediately reflected the strong service they provide. As soon as we stepped out of our boss and entered the property we were welcome warmly by the staff. From the greet they gave us which refreshing cold towels to help us cool down after traveling. The team welcome us with a special welcome song that created a joyful and energetic atmosphere after traveling for hours. That special moment made us feel truthfully welcome and the resort and it said the tone for the rest of our stay. It showed how first impressions and hospitality are incredibly important.

During our visit in this resort, my classmates and I stayed on rooms that we would have never imagined. We stayed in a suite located in the Italian village of the resort. Our suite included a king bed, a bunkbed area for kids with and also with a beautiful balcony that overlooked the pool. From the moment they assign our rooms to the moment, we entered the room everything felt perfect. The room was spotless, the beds weren’t neatly made, and every detail felt carefully arranged. The first impression immediately created a sense of comfort and professionalism. It showed how important housekeeping is in creating the environment that gets aspect when they arrive at a luxury resort.

One of the most impressive things during my stay was the exceptional level of service provided by the housekeeping team. From noticing that the staff serviced a room twice a day to make sure everything remain clean and organize. During the day, they would clean the room, replace towels and fresh the space. Later in the afternoon, they will return again and prepare the room for the evening. This turndown service made sure our beds were ready for us when we come back at night to sleep. Adjusting the beds, organize the room, and make sure everything was said for a relaxing evening, and even noticing that in my side of the bed, I had two blankets set for me to sleep. This level of attention truly stood out to me.

I have stayed at many resorts before, including properties from Hard Rock Hotels, but I had never experienced this level of consistent service before. Seeing housekeeping return a second time to prepare the room for the night demonstrated how committed the team was to ensuring that guests had a great day. This service made me realize that true luxury hospitality is often defined by small details that gas may not expect but greatly appreciate.

Another important experience I had during this trip was during the resort laundry facility. Seeing the operation behind the scenes, help me understand how much work is required to maintain the high standards of the resort. The laundry department manages large amount of linens, towels, and uniforms every day using technology. We saw large washing and drying machines the run constantly, as well as automated folding machines that help staff efficiently fold bedsheets and even towels. The technology supports the team and helps, maintain the level of cleanliness that guests expect.

As a result from my experience at Beaches Turks & Caicos showed me how important the work behind the scenes is in hospitality. From housekeeping to laundry, these teams may not always be visible to guess, but their effort are essential in creating a comfortable, safe, and memorable stay. Observing this operations, help me appreciate the coordination, technology, and dedication required to maintain a height standard of a luxury resort.
