Breweries and Exploration.

When we visited at Fuller’s Griffin Brewery, we had a huge tour of the entire warehouses! We got to se all the stills they used to hold the brew in and learned about all the grains they used for the different types of beers they craft. We learned about all of the production and how the different types of storage for their beer, and they showed us all of the interesting parts that were as well for show just for the tourism aspect. We got to even see copper stills where they used to hold their brews back in the day until they changed to a more modern still. I think most of these breweries and big name alcohol brands like to protect their history and try to maintain their traditions by teaching the fan bases of the roots of the company. It’s important for these brands to try and rep their roots and histories because it creates individuality between alcohol, and giving a purpose to the bottles rather than to be used as a vice. After we toured this brewery we headed off to the Camden Market! When we got there it was so busy, it reminded me of the straw market in the Bahamas is the closest thing I could describe it as. There was many local food places to eat at, as well as the infamous Amy Winehouse statue was there to take photos of or with. After eating at a local pub, I decided to go with my group and see the market itself. I saw mainly a lot of the same things for different prices, it was for me not super appealing! I think it’s a great area for entrepreneurs to start up their businesses and try and sell especially with the foot traffic they gain. after the Camden Market, I took a friend from the program and went to selfridges and did what is called the Jellycat experience in London! This is an experience at a store only in London, I couldn’t pass up the offer. I had so much fun just seeing and exploring the different floors of selfridges because it’s insanely posh! The free day, me and my group decided to take on a classic of visiting London, and go to Abbey road to recreate the album cover by the Beatles or just to shop around the area. I have been a huge fan of the Beatles my entire life, this felt so surreal to me especially standing outside of the studio and just exploring it all. Next up we tried infamous lunch, SpudBros, it’s a jacket potato that’s loaded to the brim of baked beans, cheese, chicken, and the special sauce! It was so overly filling however I understood why people went to the store it tasted amazing. One thing I did that I didn’t do on the free day was go and seeing the Cabaret show starring Billy Porter as the Emcee. I’ve always wanted to see this show so seeing it in London, with one of my favorite actors, and everything going on in the world the play hit extremely deep. It made me sob like a baby, it took everything in me to not hysterically cry at the ending of the play! I think seeing the play and just experiencing such an amazing trip before going home it kind of gave me a reality check into the world I was coming back into outside of Europe. I can’t wait to take all the skills I have been learning in London and bring them back to the states to elevate wellness and spa areas.
