Blog 7: Markets, Breweries and Meaningful Moments

Brewery & Beverage Experience

Stepping into Fuller’s Griffin Brewery was a unique and pleasant experience. Being my first time in a brewery, I loved learning about the beer production process and the history and legacy of beer. One of the most interesting aspects of the brewery was how, despite the introduction of new technology and evolving methods, they retained their traditional brewing techniques and preservation, which give the brewery its character.

Market Culture & Local Flavor

The experience at Camden Market was terrific; I loved this market. The atmosphere, the food options, and most importantly, the shops! For lunch, I got fried calamari with fries, and it was delicious. Thereafter, I visited the shops. At the market, the hospitality really shocked me because everywhere in the market was different. For example, at the food booth, the servers were nice and helpful. However, in the shops, some of the owners were polite and open, sharing stories and genuinely trying to build a connection. And then there is the other part, where the owners are just waiting for the guest to buy or not.

Entrepreneurship plays a considerable role in the guest experience because entrepreneurs infuse their offerings with passion, imagination, and personal investment. Doing this has a direct impact on how clients feel during their visit. Additionally, it promotes innovation in the industry. Small business entrepreneurs are frequently the first to come up with creative concepts. Those concepts keep the local hospitality culture vibrant and entertaining for both locals and tourists.

Free Exploration & Personal Insight

During my free day, my friends and I took one last chance to explore the city. Our first stop was at the iconic Abbey Road, which is best known for its association with the Beatles. We took pictures on the same street where they had taken a picture for their 1969 album. We visited the gift shop and purchased souvenirs. After, we went to eat at Spud Bros. Then, we walked to visit the Ferrero Rocher, and it was beautiful with so many different chocolate flavors. I got their ice cream, and it was just perfect. Thereafter, we went to the old barber shop in London, and again, it was beautiful, having certainly been renovated, but its essence was still there.

Hospitality Takeaway

This day was exactly what I needed after several busy days of exploring and learning. It was calm yet meaningful; allowing my friends and me to explore the city at our own pace and do the things we were personally excited about. This day also made me reflect on the entire journey we had and how grateful I am to have had that experience. I immediately noticed that I wanted to give guests and visitors a memorable impression, just like the one London and its hospitality provided for me. I will always cherish this day and adventure!
