Blog 6 – Recap

This trip was insane. I honestly feel like I have learned so much about myself and my place in the world from this experience. I have always wanted to travel and explore the world, but the fact that I could actually make it happen and travel to Prague opened up so many doors in my mind!

On our final day, I spent the day very leisurely as a result of staying up especially late till the early morning the night prior. After waking up, me and a friend went to the Grand Cafe Orient, a spot we wanted to go to since the first day of the walking tour Petr gave up. It was so delicious and aesthetic inside! The main attraction of the cafe was the special architectural style of Cubism, the only cubism cafe in the world. After eating and getting some coffee, we took a stroll around the city, soaking up the last morning and afternoon we would be spending in Prague. It was a bittersweet feeling, saying goodbye to the city that I had grown to love, but if anything these feelings only encouraged me to travel to more places and eventually visit Prague once more.

Later that night, we had our final meal together on our dinner cruise! Although it was raining and freezing cold on our walk over, the cruise was perfect. Slowly moving across the river and seeing all the attractions of Prague from a new perspective was a perfect finale to our trip together. The food and wine I consumed was absolutely delectable, and the people surrounding me made the meal all the more special.

Sadly, after the dinner cruise ended we all headed back to the hotel and packed for the early bus ride back to the airport at 2:30 a.m that a lot of us were planning on taking. But before that, some of us decided to have one last mini hooray of Prague and go out one last time before catching the bus to the airport. Again, a bittersweet ending.

I cannot explain how much fun this trip was and how much it has impacted me and influenced my future goals and intentions for living my life. I definitely have stepped out of my comfort zone, traveling alone outside of the country for the first time and meeting so many new people and it was amazing. I’ll never forget going to the amazing clubs here, having a drink with new friends at our hotel bar, meeting new people from all over the world, going to cool vintage stores, seeing a live orchestra in a beautiful church, and getting lost in the streets of Prague with people i’ll always remember. It will be an experience I will be bringing with me on every new trip I embark on, pushing me to keep trying new things and explore new places I’ve always dreamed of.

I’ve really learned that the world is so much bigger than anyone person, filled with so much history from the remnants before us and will continue remain after us, so we should all try to leave our own mark for the better. I cannot wait to continue my travels and find my next journey!
