As previously mentioned, I think that management does a good job of balancing the visitor experience with cultural preservation by having some areas not allow photography and some allowing photography but without flash. They also have a good amount of the castle closed off since they are still being used by the Royal family however the areas that they have open they have them filled with painting and clothing so i find that really cool and a way to showcase as much as possible with the limited amount of space that they have. When it comes to the Borough Market, I found it really cool how they have multiple different types of foods from different cultures. Unlike in food events that happen that I have been to, they are limited edition or events that happen seasonally, unlike the Borough Market, which is open year-round. It was also incredibly affordable. A few things that I would change as a hospitality events major would be to have it more orgazinational. Locals may know where certain booths are; however, for a tourist, it can be insanely different to find certain foods or boutiques since there aren’t any signs around indicating where things are. There were also no indicators on how far the market went on for which was also quite confusing, cause after a while I was confused if I was still in the market or I was outside in the streets. Another thing was to expand the market; it was extremely packed, which is a safety hazard. If there were an emergency, such as a fire, the lack of space could cause many people to be injured, since some people would be pushing for a way out. When it comes to the London Eye, I found it very cool how you can see the most important and famous landmarks, such as Big Ben. However, I did not have the best experience since there was no air conditioning once you had entered the bubble. I believe that they stopped the air conditioning to save electricity and make it more environmentally friendly; however, since the day we went, it was very sunny. Once we were at the top of the bubble, it started to get very hot. These experiences have taught me a lot as a hospitality major, and I will take them into consideration when I plan events or make attractions. I have to take into consideration the health and safety of my customers/guests rather than finding loopholes to save money.
