Christmas time in Prague is there number 1 tourism season. This being because what Prague offers during this special and imtimte time of the year. Firstly, the Christmas markets. All markets include authentic, classic Czech Christmas foods and deserts. All are delicious, but with so many options and different located markets, you can find something for everyone taste. My personally favorite was the chicken kababs. Czech cuisine uses many delicious spices to make all basic meals more flavorful. The kabobs, sasuagee and meats are all smoked using a very large supply of wood dedicated for the markets. These cooks not only care about the Christmas spirit, but, as well as the love and authenticity that gives into the food. From potato chips on a stick to hot wine, it’s a food lovers paradise. However, if not a food lover, the market still has many options to draw in attention. They sell wrappings and flower bouquets for locals Christmas gifts and needs, and ornaments next to large real, lit trees put up for décor. It as merry as I believe one can be. And with Prague being so easily walkable, one can explore many different markets with different attractions and products. For example, the market closest to us was smaller and offered all the basic selling products. Hats, gloves, fur, ornaments, sausage, kababs, fried food, and of course, hot wine. However, when visiting the market in Pilsen, they had dream catchers, a Ferris wheel and even an animal attraction with goats, pony’s and even a wolf. It is not too loud, and all have live music from local artist preforming to bring up the Christmas spirit. After visiting, it is clear dedication and respect are the largest factors here at the markets, to lay as a foundation and make them that much more special. The dedication of local worker at the markets creates the authentic feel and taste to the food, the dedication from the city to decorate, attracts kids, families and everyone to take pictures and share about how beautiful Prague is in the winter. If given minimal effort, with less dedication, the population of consumers of these markets would not be even remotely close. People can feel and see hospitality workers who work because they must and work because they love to; and almost all the ones I interacted with were happy to see me enjoying their products or food on respectful yet curious level. There wasn’t a single complaint about the Christmas market I or have heard of anyone I met having, which speaks volumes to the success and effect of their hard work to create an amazing hospitable enviornment that creates profits.
