I unfortunately wasn’t feeling great the day of Prague castle and Christmas market and had to miss it. So, I have not a lot to say about that. As for the Terezin memorial, it was one of the most impactful experiences of my life. To see the conditions in which these people were living was sickening. And the number of children’s names on the wall was heartbreaking.
Prague transforms into a winter wonderland during Christmas, offering a magical blend of sparkling lights, festive markets, and age-old traditions. The city’s cobblestone streets, medieval squares, and Gothic spires create a picturesque setting that feels like stepping into a storybook. The heart of Prague’s holiday celebrations lies in its enchanting Christmas markets, with the largest and most famous located in Old Town Square. Here, the aroma of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and traditional Czech pastries fills the air as vendors sell handcrafted ornaments, wooden toys, and intricate glassware. A towering Christmas tree, adorned with lights and ornaments, stands as the centerpiece, surrounded by carolers and live performances that add to the festive ambiance.
