I started my day with hours to spend exploring in a new city. My plan was to find a coffee shop and get lost in the city, which is exactly what I did. Like a true American I ordered my coffee to go… I then learned you do not do that here. After exploring I went back to the hotel and met up with everyone.

The walking tour was amazing because Petr explained the history of the city and the architecture. I found it fascinating when it was explained that the church we visited was built to even out the skyline. It was also cool seeing the coffee shop inspired by Picasso and the school Einstein would lecture at.

The welcome dinner was a great ice breaker to meet fellow peers. This was also the first time I had seen traditional Czech food as well.

The hotel tour was my favorite thing we did in this block of days. I found it interesting that the hotel was once and still is a monastery. The rooms were cool because each reward level received a different type of room which I was not aware of.

While touring the city I noticed that Prague is a summer destination. The gardens have roses, restaurants have outside seating, and tourists can go camping.
