Hi everyone! It’s crazy to believe that we’ll all shortly be in Prague. I am beyond excited and curious about what this trip will bring!
Although I’ve been in Milan, Italy, for the past five days, I cannot wait to see what Prague is like. Thankfully, I have gotten over the horrible jet lag when I flew to Italy. However, the weather is something I am not yet used to. In comparison to Florida temperatures in the 70°s , the 30°-40°F weather has been dreadful. The warm scarves, sweaters, and puffy jackets are a life saver! While being in Milan, I’ve been to a lot of museums, wine tastings, and even an AC Milan football game! Since I have never been to Central Europe, I’m very interested in learning about Prague and its culture in comparison to Italy. I’m curious about so many aspects, such as the food, the people, the history, and so much more!
Based on my preconceptions, I’ve heard that Prague is a very medieval style city, rich in history. Since my sister has visited the Czech Republic before, she has described it as being very magical with unique foods and architecture. She was surprised that it had so many pastel colored buildings and a fairly tale-like atmosphere. I cannot wait to see for myself!
Additionally, I am very excited to go to some museums to learn about the history of Prague and how those aspects affected the culture and dark tourism. Especially during the challenging times, such as World War II and Soviet Occupation. I find learning the history of a new place or country makes all aspects of a trip all the more richer and interesting. I also cannot wait to eat! I want to learn all about the norms and process of going out and eating since it’s so different from county to country- there’s so much to learn.
I’m so excited to take this trip to Prague and learn everything, as well as add another country to my list of travels!
